ANCESTRY LIBRARY EDITION
Attention all genealogists: The Bridgman Library now subscribes to Ancestry Library Edition! The Friends of the Bridgman Library have generously provided the patrons of our library with this new tool for searching and finding our ancestors. We have a computer dedicated to genealogy, but you may use any computer in the library or your laptop on our wi-fi. The staff is always happy to help you. TEENS: genealogy isn't just for adults. You can use your iPad or iPhone too.
Genealogy Computer Available
The genealogy computer has the following data bases loaded on it from the Family History Resource File CD Rom Library
Western Europe Vital Records Index - Alpine, Benelux, French, German, Italian and Spanish Regions
British Isles Vital Records Indes - England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales
North American Vital Records Index - United States and Canada
1880 United States Census and National Index
From Ancestry.Com
Michigan Vital Records: Deaths from 1971 - 1996
We also have RootsMagic which is genealogy software that will help in researching, organizing, and sharing your family history. It will work for a beginner or an experienced researcher and once used on the library computer and saved to a stick drive it can be used on your personal computer. When you plug that drive into your personal computer the program will be available that computer so you can continue your work. When asked this program will even help you find research already done on your family. We invite you to come to the library to use this new resource to help find those connections to the past. You never know what you'll find.
