"PAWS"itive Reading Returns
Come and read to Teva!!!
The old saying goes that, “ dog is man’s best friend”, and the Bridgman Public Library is helping to prove that with its "Paws"itive Reading program. This program is happening the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. through May, 2012. Reading sessions are 15 minutes each. Registration  is required.

Pawsitive Reading is a program that can be a tool to help all children, especially those who may wish to improve their reading abillity or ESL students.  A teacher, parent or guardian may call the library at 269-465-3663 to register a child for a 15 minute appointment with our furry friend, Teva and his handler, Miss Dee.  Help your child build confidence & improve his or her reading skills by signing them up for this fun opportunity today.

More information about our Pawsitive Reading Program and Canine Companions is available at the Library.

Reading BEE-lievers
The Bridgman Public Library and Bridgman Elementary School have joined together, sharing time and resources, to bring back an after-school reading program for the 3rd and 4th graders of our community. Focusing on the mission of both the Bridgman Schools and the Bridgman Library, Reading BEE-lievers was born! Every Wednesday after school, participating children ride the school bus to the Library. The children enjoy a snack, and then go to different stations that have been especially developed by the teachers to help children improve their reading skills, including: Early Literacy Station (purchased by our Friends of the Bridgman Library) and , silent reading (books & e-readers), reading aloud to an adult volunteer, TAG reading system, and phonics skills development with one of two teachers. Supported by wonderful adult volunteers, including teachers, this program is making a difference for these children and creating lifelong readers! Reading BEE-lievers meets every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 during the school year. The final program is March 28th. To volunteer, please contact Denise at the Bridgman Library - 465-3663
