Interlibrary Loan
To: Bridgman Library Patrons
Re: Update on Inter-Library Loan Services
We are very excited to bring Melcat to our community. This gives readers opportunities to read books not available in our library. We think our patrons will appreciate the ability to be involved in their book selection. Read on for more information.

What is Melcat?
Melcat is a statewide catalog of books, CD’s, DVD’s and more. Participating Melcat libraries have agreed to share their materials with other libraries, creating a resource sharing system for the entire state of Michigan. Patrons will be responsible for initiating their own requests and items will be delivered to their home library via a statewide delivery system.
Who can use Melcat?
Patrons in good standing with a current library card may use Melcat.
Patrons are responsible for:
- Keeping their contact info up to date.
- Returning Melcat items to the library which obtained the material for them on or before the due date.
- Paying any late fees, damage or replacement costs.
Bridgman Public Library is currently in the process of becoming a Melcat library. We hope to “go live” in the next few months and will continue to keep you informed of the progress. To learn more about Melcat, visit their website, www.mel.org and click on Melcat under MelCatalog.
