Bridgman Public Library Policies

Library Cards

Library cards are issued to anyone who lives in Bridgman or Lake Township. School of Choice Students attending Bridgman Public Schools or Immanuel Lutheran students are able to get a card to use during the school year. A library card is required to check out materials.

To obtain a library card, one piece of identification showing a current local address is required.  We also welcome the use of the statewide Michicard.  Interlibrary Loans are available to patrons living in Bridgman or Lake Township for materials that are not in our collection.

There is a $1.00 fee to replace a lost card

Fines

Books, Periodicals, Audio Books
$.10 per day, per item

Videos and DVDs
$1.00 per day, per item

Patrons are responsible for the replacement cost of any lost or damaged item.

Holds

Holds may be placed on items that are checked out. You will be notified when the item is available.

1 Week VHS

2 Weeks Books
  Audio books

Renewals

These may be made either in person or by telephone if there are no holds on the items. Videos and DVDs renew for one week, books and audiobooks for two weeks. Extended due dates may be arranged by request.

Periodicals may not be renewed. All current issues of periodicals are available immediately for checkout except for periodicals published weekly.

Computer Services

There are a total of eight computers available for use by adults and children.  The computers feature software applications, educational games, as well as the Internet. To use a computer sign-up is required at the front desk. Reservations may be made by calling us @ (269) 465-3663
